In January, Gore Design Completions (GDC) welcomed two more aircraft to its hangar bringing the total number of current completions projects to seven for the company. The first aircraft, for a central Asian head of state, is an Airbus A320-200. The project marks the second contract GDC has worked on for this customer. The second aircraft is an Airbus A340-500 that joins two other A340's already under completion at the company's San Antonio based hangar. It will mark the fourth A340 that GDC has worked on to date.
The seven aircraft under completion represent a mix of wide and narrow body aircraft destined for VVIP customers around the world. GDC engineers and designers have designed "interiors that are second to none," says co-owner Kathy Gore-Walters. The company's back shops, including cabinetry and upholstery have hired nearly 200 additional employees to manage the level of work that these completions projects create. Deliveries for both GDC's latest projects are scheduled for early 2012.
