German air ambulance specialist and vip carrier, FAI rent-a-jet AG (dba Flight Ambulance International) just reported new record sales of above EUR 42 m in the year of 2010, which reflects an increase of 27 % vs. 2009 (EUR 33.2 m). The growth of FAI 's three business divisions was 13 % in air ambulance, 16 % in public services and 32 % in vip charter. The earning before taxes (EBT) was at EUR 5.7 m close to 20 % above 2009 (EUR 4.8 m). For the year of 2011 FAI is expecting total sales of more than EUR 50 m, which again would reflect a growth of more than 20 %.
With a current fleet of 18 jets, FAI is expecting delivery of a second Global Express in March 2011, after the first aircraft of this type was put in service July last year. "With the acquisition of a second Global Express, FAI is responding to the high demand coming from this premium sector of vvip travel, which also means that Global Express no. 3 could arrive very soon", said Siegfried Axtmann, FAI chairman in a recent statement.
FAI employs around 120 full-time employees at its home base Nuremberg/Germany plus approximately 40 part-time employees. Part-time employees consists of doctors and paramedics mostly.
Beside its home base in Nuremberg, FAI maintains line stations in Dakar/Senegal, Abidjan/Elfenbeinküste, Entebbe/Uganda and El Fasher/Sudan. For the second quarter of 2011, FAI is scheduled to open another line station in Dubai/UAE.
In mid April 2011, FAI will also celebrate the opening of hangar 6, its new hangar/office-building at Nuremberg International Airport. The EUR 10 m investment is just undergoing final furnishing.
