ExecuJet supports WEF – reports busiest time of year

The ExecuJet Aviation Group once again reported an exceptionally busy period during 26-30th January supporting visiting jets whose passengers were headed for the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting at Davos, Switzerland. The company handled 330 movements during the event with a high majority being Global Express and Gulfstream aircraft.

As in previous years, ExecuJet secured an exclusive agreement with Dübendorf Airport (LSMD), the military-owned airport conveniently located just 5nm north of Zurich airport, to allow for aircraft to be parked at the airfield during the WEF. ExecuJet handled 20 movements at Dubendorf during this period, with all passengers being handled through the Zurich FBO.

"Our newly refurbished pilot and passenger lounges at our Zurich FBO were greatly appreciated by delegates and crews and we increased the number of dedicated ExecuJet representatives on the ground at both Zurich and Dübendorf to look after passengers and flight crews, de-ice aircraft and handle all ground transportation requests," said Nicole Gut, ExecuJet Director of European FBOs. "We were also able to park an increased number of aircraft at Zurich this year thanks to the addition of our new hangar"

Record breaking fuel volumes

In addition to handling additional aircraft during this intensive period, ExecuJet sold a record 465,514 litres of fuel, up by 25,000 from this week in 2010. "Fuel sales peaked on Saturday January 29th, with almost 160,000 litres sold in just the one day," noted Nicole.

During the five-day WEF meeting, more than 2,500 delegates, including overseas Ministers and Presidents, from as many as 75 countries gathered in Davos. For the past four decades, the Annual Meeting has provided leaders from industry, government, academia, civil society and the media with an unrivalled platform rethink systems and explore strategies at the start of each year.
