September 26, 2007
CAE's Burgess Hill UK Flight Training centre has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for Part 142 training. The approval enables the centre to conduct FAA-approved training, testing and certification for type ratings on the Falcon 7X, Falcon 900EX EASy and the Falcon 2000EX EASy.
The first clients in the Falcon 7X initial pilot training class have received their type ratings under FAA approval. Technical training has been underway at the centre since February.
"This training centre approval gives European operators the convenience of training under FAA Part 142 certification at a location close to home," said Jeff Roberts, CAE's Group President, Innovation and Civil Training & Services. "CAE's global training network gives us an unmatched capability to meet the needs of our customers in locations that are most convenient for them. Our European clients can now receive personalized, high-quality Falcon training close to home."
The CAE Burgess Hill Training Centre, located near the London Gatwick airport, is the European home for CAE SimuFlite's Falcon 7X, Falcon 900EX EASy, and Falcon 2000EX EASy training programs. All three of these training programs are certified by the FAA and European Joint Airworthiness Authority (JAA).
In 2004, CAE was awarded an exclusive contract by Dassault to provide entitlement training for pilots, maintenance personnel and cabin crew for the Falcon 7X aircraft. Training takes place in Burgess Hill and in CAE's new North East Training Center near Morristown, New Jersey.
In January, CAE inaugurated a four-bay expansion at the Burgess Hill training centre and announced plans for another expansion. The centre currently houses seven simulators and expects to train approximately 6,000 pilots during 2007.
