The Thrane & Thrane stand (C428) during this year's MEBA features the innovative AVIATOR 200, which recently received Inmarsat Type Approval following succussful installation and testing onboard a Cessna Citation business jet. Through utilizing a combination of proven avionics and antenna technologies the AVIATOR 200 offers reliable and affordable connectivity within an exceptionally compact and lightweight package, ensuring the system's suitability for the broadest range of aircraft possible.
"The launch of the AVIATOR 200 has made high-speed internet a viable option for smaller business aircraft that previously wouldn't have been able to take advantage of SwiftBroadband because of weight and cost limitations. Following the successful launch and Inmarsat Type Approval of the AVIATOR 200 solution, small business aircraft will now be able to stay connected via an extensive range of services including voice, internet and email provided within in an incredibly compact and lightweight package," comments Shaun Flanagan, Aeronautical Sales Director, EMEA & Asia.
The Thrane & Thrane AVIATOR 200 solution simultaneously provides data speeds up to 200 Kbps and a single AMBE 2 channel for voice calls, offering users aboard smaller aircraft a complete communications experience where this was previously not achievable. Data and voice services can be accessed via wired or wireless connections built into the AVIATOR 200, alleviating the need for external wired and wireless routers. AVIATOR 200 introduces in-flight broadband communication to an entirely new segment of users, providing airborne connectivity for business, military and government users, particularly where weight and space may be critical considerations.
Thrane & Thrane's introduction of the AVIATOR 200 is testament to the company's position at the forefront of innovation and technological development. Designed in accordance with Inmarsat's SwiftBroadband 200 service, Thrane & Thrane engineers have significantly reduced overall system size and weight as well as cost and complexity of aircraft modifications required to install the system. This has been achieved while still developing a solution that provides a high level of service for the end user.
For operators and owners of larger aircraft, Thrane & Thrane offers the full SwiftBroadband portfolio which includes the AVIATOR 200 with low gain antenna, AVIATOR 300 & 350 intermediate and high gain antenna options and the AVIATOR 700 complete cockpit and cabin communications system.
Flanagan adds, "We are available at the Thrane & Thrane stand throughout MEBA to handle operation, installation and service enquiries about the entire Thrane & Thrane AVIATOR SwiftBroadband portfolio which includes low gain, intermediate gain and high gain antenna options, to meet any user requirement for speed, size or budget."
