Market Summary
Highlighted in Table 1 are the key worldwide trends across all aircraft market segments for the first ten months of 2010 versus the same period in 2009. Percentage of Business Jet Inventory For Sale shows the largest change (off 1.5 points), to 15.2% from 16.7% in 2009. Most important is the percentage change in the Sale Transactions, as Business Jets lead with the largest percentage gain, up by a full 16% as compared to 2009. All aircraft categories are taking longer to sell in 2010, ranging from 41 to 93 more days in the YTD comparisons. The Pre-owned Piston Helicopter segment is the only market sector to show an increase in average asking price (up by 1%). Conversely, the Piston Helicopter segment is the only sector to show a decrease in Sale Transactions (an 11% drop).
