International Communications Group (ICG) has announced the promotion of a pair of veteran software development engineers to key management positions within its Engineering Group. Wagdy Hanna has been promoted to Software Department Manager and Olga Diskin has been named Principal Software Engineer according to Darrell Andregg, Vice President of Engineering and Technology for ICG.
"I am very pleased to announce these two new assignments," Andregg said. "In his new capacity Wag will provide a focal point in the planning and execution of all software development activities. He will continue to be a technical contributor, but he will also focus on planning and process development to insure that our software products achieve our stated mission goals."
"Olga's attention to detail, customer focus, and tireless work ethic have resulted in her elevation as well from Senior Software Engineer to Principal Software Engineer. A 10 year employee, she was primarily responsible for developing the AeroCom 3000 software but recently assumed a more active role in the evolution of future products such as the AeroCom 1700 and the AeroRouter 800. ICG's position in the industry continues to grow along with our product line and the applications for them. These changes reflect the kind of commitment and talent our employees continue to apply to the demands of the marketplace. It's a pleasure to recognize Wagdy and Olga for their work. Their promotions are well-deserved."
Prior to joining ICG in Jan 2007, Wagdy Hanna was the software team leader at Spotwave Wireless, where he was responsible for leading the system architecture and delivery of embedded systems for adaptive wireless signal repeater products. In that role, he developed system and software requirements documents, mentored software engineers, and coordinated with the electrical, manufacturing, and customer service groups to ensure the software development plans aligned with the overall business objectives. Prior to his tenure at Spotwave, he worked at Nortel Networks and GSI Lumonics in various capacities in the embedded software engineering field.
Olga Diskin joined ICG in July of 2000. In addition to directing the AeroCom 3000 feature development she has worked on the Iridium Credit Card Platform design and development, Iridium Billing and Reporting System (IBRS) and the configuration and monitoring tools for the AeroCom 1100, ICS-200 and ICS-400 products. She holds a
Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the Tomsk State University in Russia and previously worked as a software engineer at the Institute of Nuclear Power Engineering in Obninsk, Russia and at Gaya Software Industries, LTD in Israel, specializing in telecommunication-related software projects such as billing systems, protocol emulation tools, software-based intelligent IP gateways and VoIP technology.
