Press Release
Issued by Titan Airways.
November 1, 2010
Titan Airways, the London Stansted-based VIP charter specialist, took the accolade as Best Passenger Charter Airline at last week's annual Baltic Air Charter Association (BACA) Luncheon Awards at London's Guildhall.
It is the third year in five years of the awards that Titan has taken the title, independently voted for by BACA membership which includes air brokers, airports, business aircraft operators, suppliers and aviation consultants. Accepting the accolade from sports TV presenter John Inverdale and award sponsor Wendy Murphy from Direct Air Charter, Alastair Kiernan, Titan's Commercial Director thanked BACA: "This is for the entire Titan team for their consistent hard work in delivering a consistently reliable and quality service," he said.
"Receiving this endorsement from our industry peers this year is especially important," he added. Titan, now in its 23rd year, is preparing to launch a brand new executive aviation division – Titan Airways Executive - which will commence service with the acceptance of a brand new large-cabin, 13-seat transatlantic capable Legacy 650 business jet – the first of the type into the UK. Embraer won EASA certification at the end of October, paving the way for delivery to Titan's Stansted base by December. Titan's King Air 350 business turboprop and its 44-seat VIP Boeing 737-300 will also be marketed under the new brand.
There was also good news for Titan's preferred Fixed Base Operator partner too. Inflite at Stansted Airport won Best Handling Agent for a second consecutive year. Inflite will play a key role supporting Titan's new aircraft which will be based at Inflite's hangar. Inflite is Embraer's authorised Service Centre in the UK.
BACA, 61 years old, is the world's largest and most respected network for Air Charter Professionals, representing the interests of air-brokers, charter airlines, airports, business aircraft operators, freight forwarders and consultants at both a commercial and political level.
Titan has built its reputation on its unique 'Go Now' policy, which guarantees that any of its fleet can be airborne within 60 minutes of flight confirmation.
The new Titan Airways Executive and the Legacy 650 will be formally presented to clients and the charter broker fraternity later this year.
