Weston Aviation reaches 15 year milestone

Weston Aviation, the UK based business aviation and aircraft charter specialist, is celebrating 15 years of successful growth and trading. The company opened for business in 1995 as a cargo aircraft charter brokerage, Weston Air International, and then introduced passenger charter sales a few years later as a separate division, Focus Air Charter. The company continued its expansion in 2002 by opening UK based Business Aviation Centres and FBO facilities at Durham Tees Valley and Newquay Cornwall Airports under the name of Midwest Executive Aviation. To enable the company to provide a fully integrated aviation service, the three divisions amalgamated earlier this year to form Weston Aviation.

The company was launched by Managing Director and founder, Nick Weston in Banbury, Oxfordshire following a previous career with the Royal Air Force and ground handling companies at UK airports. Nick still today heads up the business now headquartered in Leicestershire, and despite the recent economical downturns affecting the global economy, Weston Aviation continues to expand and grow. "When I started the company in 1995, I was told by a number of people that once you have passed the three year mark, you were likely to succeed and continue trading long term. I think that traditional comforting benchmark has long since been removed within all industries. Even now 15 years down the line, we are constantly watching the latest market trends and developments to keep the company fresh and pioneering. In the FBO and charter business you constantly have to give value for money and have good solid commercial reasons as to why your facilities and services are better than alternative suppliers" remarked Weston.

The company had successfully grown its business and private aviation activities at its airports over the past eight years by working closely in partnership with its host airports, which is a key element to its continued success. Becky Carver, General Manager, expands on this further. "Our success has been down to our close relationships with our airport companies. We fully understand their business and they understand ours, and most importantly we both realise the long term potential of business and private aviation. Without the full support of the management teams of Durham Tees Valley and Newquay Cornwall Airports, we wouldn't be as successful in what we do as we have been".

Going forward for the next 15 years, Nick Weston continues to be positive about the future and shows no sign of slowing down the momentum and the company's growth. "Myself and all the team at Weston Aviation share a passion for the company and business aviation in general. Almost weekly I receive letters and emails of commendation for our Operations Officers or Managers for noted excellence in customer service and generally for going beyond the call of duty for our customers. Our success and reputation today is all testament to them", he added.
