Thrane & Thrane announces completion of AVIATOR brand introduction

Following the successful launch of the AVIATOR brand earlier this year, Thrane & Thrane is delighted to announce the successful renaming of its SwiftBroadband product portfolio. Previously 'Aero SB', Thrane & Thrane's highly regarded SwiftBroadband products are now known as AVIATOR, a brand name that has quickly become synonymous with the power of Inmarsat SwiftBroadband and at the leading-edge of SwiftBroadband terminal technology for business and commercial aircraft communication.

For each product in the Thrane & Thrane SwiftBroadband family, the AVIATOR brand name is followed by a numeric descriptor, reflecting the level of SwiftBroadband service that the terminal is used for and the product variation designated by Thrane & Thrane. Using this convention, Thrane & Thrane's portfolio has been renamed to:

AVIATOR 300 - Previously Aero-SB Lite (with Intermediate Gain Antenna - IGA)

AVIATOR 350 - Previously Aero-SB Lite (with High Gain Antenna - HGA)

AVIATOR 700 - Previously Aero-SB+

"Our SwiftBroadband products have been unchanged technically, offering the same high reliability, functionality and application for the widest range of aircraft, but with new product names designed to make choosing the right solution for different requirements and aircraft much easier. At the same time as the name change for the existing products, we also introduced the brand new AVIATOR 200 system, which expands our portfolio even further and provides SwiftBroadband capabilities for even smaller aircraft," explains Kim Gram, Vice President, Aeronautical Business Unit, Thrane & Thrane.

"AVIATOR shows our commitment to the aeronautical communications segment, which benefits from its own well-established business unit within Thrane & Thrane to ensure complete focus on the customer, technology and application," continues Gram. "The AVIATOR product family name is also more closely aligned with our SAILOR® and EXPLORER(TM) product family names for maritime and land mobile use, reflecting the environment our SwiftBroadband systems are used in."
