CMC Electronics' Class 2 Electronic Flight Bag selected by Rockwell Collins for Bombardier Aerospace's Global Platform

CMC Electronics' Class 2 PilotView® Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) has been selected by Rockwell Collins Inc. for the high-speed Bombardier Global 5000* and ultra long-range Global Express XRS* business jets. The PilotView EFB will enable paperless cockpit operations, including electronic charts, graphical weather, aircraft and operator manuals, while also providing cockpit connectivity and the hosting of display functions for Rockwell Collins' Cabin Electronic System.

Cathy Bain, CMC Electronics Vice President, Marketing and Sales, said: "This selection by Rockwell Collins is great news and an excellent endorsement of the PilotView EFB. Our EFB solution delivers a DO-160D qualified, avionics grade system that offers superior readability in a high-resolution XVGA display. Simple to install, our ultra compact EFB can host a wide array of software applications. For increased flexibility, the portable Electronic Display Unit allows crews to pre-plan flights off the aircraft."

CMC's PilotView EFB improves productivity by enabling pre-flight planning and efficient access to up to date aircraft documentation, checklists and flight planning information. PilotView increases situational awareness in-flight with en-route, approach charts, moving map display, and graphical real time weather information. The PilotView is a compact, lightweight system with a display/processor unit and aircraft interface unit which are to easy to install in a variety of cockpits where space is at a premium.

A high-quality 8.4" AMLCD display offers exceptional readability in most cockpit ambient light conditions. In addition to line select keys and a convenient integrated keyboard, the PilotView EFB offers a "film-on-glass" touch-sensitive screen providing pilots with a choice when accessing or navigating through EFB software applications.
