Rockwell Collins delivers Virtual Avionics Procedures Trainer to Corporate Aircraft SA

Rockwell Collins recently delivered its Virtual Avionics Procedures Trainer (VAPT) system to Corporate Aircraft SA, an authorized dealer of Hawker Beechcraft aircraft, for an unnamed customer. The device will train pilots flying King Air aircraft, which are equipped with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics.

"This award represents yet another customer that has recognized the value that the Rockwell Collins VAPT can bring to their training requirements," said Ken Schreder, vice president and general manager of Simulation & Training Solutions for Rockwell Collins. "The VAPT is a highly cost-effective solution with embedded avionics software that provides greater fidelity and more realistic procedures training than desktop systems."

The VAPT system is based on Rockwell Collins' advanced simulation architecture and features a modular, expandable and configurable combination of commercial-off-the-shelf technology, PC-based hardware and Rockwell Collins' re-hosted avionics software. This unique combination simplifies future upgrades without expensive hardware modifications and allows the VAPT to support multiple aircraft platforms and software configurations.

By leveraging its strengths in avionic systems development and training systems design, Rockwell Collins delivers total integrated training solutions that span the entire training life cycle, from instructional systems design through fully integrated high-fidelity training systems and support.
