As in previous years, the largest category of incidents attended were medical emergencies, which accounted for 36 per cent of missions. Many of the charities are based in the middle of the UK and fly country-wide.

The lifesaving charity welcomed a new CEO, Peta Wilkinson, and celebrated various anniversaries, an overall 'Outstanding' CQC rating and 50,000 missions milestone.

Peta Wilkinson has over 25 years of experience as a CEO and board member in the healthcare and not-for-profit sectors. She has led a diverse selection of health and social care institutions, including Willen Hospice.
