Safran’s ENGINeUS is the first EASA-certified electric motor, and has been selected to power the hybrid-electric eVTOL Atea. The aircraft prototype is currently in production.
The ENGINeUS electric motor is designed to meet the varying requirements of the new mobility market. Safran is rolling out production lines in 2026 in Niort, France and Pitstone, UK, producing up to 1,000 units per year.
