The Challenger 605 successfully completed its first flight in clear conditions in Montreal.

Maiden flight success for Challenger 605

On January 22, Bombardier's newest wide-body business jet, the Challenger 605, completed its first flight. Departing from Montreal-Trudeau International Airport, captain Frank Magnusson, co-pilot Jacques Thibaudeau and project flight test engineer Mick Mansfield took the aircraft an altitude of 41,000 feet, reaching a maximum speed of 420 knots.

The German Sovereign makes a smooth landing on a wet runway.

Viessmann Werke acquires sixth Citation jet

Viessmann Werke, manufacturer of heating technology products and one of the largest employers in the Allendorf region of Germany, has acquired a Citation Sovereign. It is not the first aeroplane that the company has operated. The first company jet was a Citation II, followed by a Citation V Ultra and a CitationJet.

Jets Personales has added a new aircraft to its fleet. The Challenger 604 will be used primarily for the managing director to make worldwide business trips, and make up extra hours operating as a charter aircraft.

Fiba Air's managed Hawker 800XP.

New Turkish operator acquires 800XP

Aircraft management firm Fiba Air has acquired a Hawker 800XP, which it will operate as an air taxi. The brand-new aircraft, which is based in Istanbul, is expected to accrue around 500 hours per year, 150 of which will be logged by the owner.

Viennese operator welcomes new aircraft

International Jet Management has added a Learjet 60 and a Beechjet 400A to its existing fleet, which includes a Gulfstream 450, Citation XL and Challenger 300. The company is operating the aircraft commercially on behalf of private owners. The LR60, which seats up to seven passengers, will be used for private and charter flights throughout Europe, from its base in Vienna.

Aero Services joins Skyjet

Aero Services' new Learjet 45 business jet has arrived at Le Bourget airport in Paris, where it will operate as a full member of Bombardier's Skyjet International global network. "Our French customers, who fly transcontinental missions, will be the first to benefit from the superior comfort and exceptional speed of the Learjet 45," observed Aero Services ceo Jose Miguel da Costa. "This aircraft can fly high above traffic and easily reach across the entire continent. We believe it is the perfect aircraft to meet a growing requirement in our expanding operations."

Hawker undergoes major refurbishment for Italian firm

A Hawker 700A is the latest aircraft to join the fleet at Eurojet Italia. The aircraft will be managed on behalf of the owner, Azimut Benetti, who also owns a luxury yacht factory. The Hawker will be used predominantly by Benetti for business trips and to transport the clients to the factory to see their yachts being produced.

Grafair's FBO lounge at Bromma airport.

Learjet 55 broadens charter potential for Swedish operator

Grafair has acquired a Learjet 55 under a management contract. The company, which is based at Stockholm's Bromma airport, took delivery of the aircraft in September but will not begin chartering it until the end of February, as it is undergoing its 12 year inspection in Berlin.

Chalair expands Beechcraft charter fleet

French charter firm Chalair has acquired a Beechcraft 1900 C and plans to obtain a King Air C90. It chose the BE1900 because of its 'diversity' and ability to carry up to 30 passengers.

Aeroland approved for single engine in Greece

Aeroland Airways, based in Athens, Greece, has been awarded an air operator's certificate (AOC) for single engine, instrument flight rules (IFR), day/night operations. It is the first such AOC to be issued to a cargo operator in Greece.
